Carson: Age 1

Carson is a year old already! Actually 13 months now since I'm so behind at blogging... We had some adorable pictures taken for his birthday and he had a combined waffle party with Molly that he thoroughly!

At 1 year Carson:

  • Weighs 21 lbs 11 oz and is 31.5 inches tall
  • Has almost 8 teeth (two of them are still just barely cut through)
  • Wears 12-18 month clothes and size 3/4 diapers
  • Sleeps so great at night - about 12.5 hours and now takes one nap a day for about 2 hours
  • Started walking really well the week after his birthday and loves to walk the circle around our living room and kitchen
  • Can climb up the playground and go down the slides on his belly all by himself.  He is a daredevil and scares mommy!
  • Was diagnosed with a peanut allergy and now has to carry around an epi pen.  He likes Sunflower butter though so it makes o difference to him
  • Loves his pacifiers and sleeps with 3 in his crib.  He no longer needs them during the day (except at church to keep him quiet)
  • Copies our actions really well... he folds his arms at prayer time and knows what all our household objects are for
  • Still only knows a few words, but is very good at communicating via grunts and squeals
  • Likes to talk on the phone
  • Likes to eat bread and fruit, but does not like water at all
  • Loves playing outside and will stand at the back door begging to go out
  • Can play the kazoo better than anyone else in our family
  • Loves to make us laugh and has the cutest facial expressions
We can't imagine life without Carson! Happy Birthday Buddy!

This month Carson:
  • Wears 12 months clothes and size 3 diapers
  • Has cut 2 more teeth for a grand total of 4
  • Can crawl super fast, stand up, turn on the bathtub, and push buttons

  • Loves to play with Molly, especially when they scream back and forth
  • Is very content in the stroller and loves to go on walks or stroll around stores
  • Takes 2 naps a day about 1.5 hours each, but they are getting later and later so we might be going down to one soon
  • Doesn't love his bottles anymore, but gets about three 7 oz bottles a day
  • Loves to eat big kid food... His favorites are lunch meat and bananas
  • Still does great sleeping at night.. he falls asleep about 5 mins after we put him in his crib and rarely wakes up in the night
  • Loves to play with balls by pushing and then chasing them
  • Wants to be included in the family and will do a high pitched scream to get attention
  • Loves his pacifiers and keeps 3 in his crib at night
  • Like to hit our faces and laugh.. we are pretty sure this means "i love you"
  • Pants like a dog when he gets excited
  • Can say "hi" and "uh-oh"
  • Doesn't like reading books.. he would much rather eat or throw them
  • Will still not hold his own bottle and doesn't like sippy cups.. but we need to work on this more often
  • Is starting to understand words.. he will reach his hands up when we say "reach" and know what "no" means
  • Seriously brings joy to our lives, and I can't imagine our family without him. I have a feeling he will always be the life of the party.
