I like my bike.

I recently got a new bike! I feel like a real Coloradan now even though it's just a cruiser.

I made Matt take my picture with my bike and my new haircut. Isn't my bike cute?

FLOOD

It's been an interesting week here in Colorado.  We have had TONS of rain which has flooded many rivers, streets, and neighborhoods.  Luckily we live on a little bit higher ground and not too close to any bodies of water so we have stayed pretty dry, but many members of our community have had major flooding in their houses.  My prayers go out to all those who have been affected.

 

 
Lots of roads are closed and schools have been cancelled since last Thursday.  My school in Boulder plans to resume this Wednesday.

I've got a lot of house work and me-time in these past few days which has been a good break from my busy schedule of teaching math and coaching softball.  I even got my hair cut!

The past few years, TV shows seem to have become more fun for Matt and I to watch than movies.  And they are so easy to access these days...  Here are our top 5 favorites at the moment. (In order)

5. Downton Abbey

Matt won't admit it, but he loves it!

4. 30 Rock

I know it's over, but we've recently discovered it and watched the entire thing.

3. Once Upon a Time

I think I'm in love with Captain Hook.

2. Community

One word:  HILARIOUS!

Best show ever.  I love crime, humor, and romance and this show has all 3.

birthday fun

My Mom and sister were able to come to town last week for Matt's 25th birthday and to have some fun with us here in CO.

We tried out the amusement park Elitch Gardens and had a blast even though we were soaked by a water ride early in the day.  They didn't really tell us how wet we would get, but it should have clued us off when the ride attendant asked if we wanted to take off our shirts.  We had a great time even if we were wet the whole day!

We also went to Oskar Blues for Matt's birthday dinner. They gave Matt a HUGE birthday sundae that was obviously made by the young men that brought it out.

We also went to downtown Boulder which is always an adventure.  We saw street musicians, jugglers, human statues, and many other eccentric people.

Beuatiful Colorado

Our new home state is BEAUTIFUL! Not only do the mountains seem much prettier from this side, the weather has been amazing as well.  I am in love with the scenery and the warm summer days with cool nights.  We have had a couple of storms, and the most recent one left us this little present right outside our door.

Matt and I are now officially Coloradans.  Our new apartment is a little bigger, and much more homey! My only complaint is the lack of storage space.
