THE ABEL FAMILY: 8 months

We now have a very playful, independent, fun-loving, 8 month old!

This month Molly:

Weighs about 19 pounds, and is still very tall (though I haven't measured her)
Wears mostly 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers
Can sit up from all fours, and can pull up to stand. She can use anything to stand up now including the walls. She always has at least one bruise on her head from trying to do new things and will NEVER sit still (I have a feeling church is going to be a struggle the next few months)
Can very quickly climb the stairs (thanks to daddy), and wants to do this all day long
Is a squealer! She squeals most when she wants more food, and when she wants us to pay more attention to her
LOVES solid foods. She has 3-4 jars of baby food plus some finger foods every day. She loves yogurt, and vegetable mixes, and anything with chicken in it. She's getting good at picking up and eating gerber puffs, mum-mums, bananas and peas
Has 4 bottles a day of 6-7 oz
Still doesn't like napping. I really hope this won't be forever... she plays for about 30 mins in her crib before falling asleep and doesn't ever sleep very long. I've tried different nap times, but no luck yet
Sleeps from 7:30pm to 6:30am most days
Has one tooth! She wasn't too cranky about getting her first one, but more are coming and she's been a major grumpy-pants the last few days. She also has a drool rash on her face constantly
Loves to turn the pages when we read a story and loves reading the touch-and-feel books
Can clap her hands and dances when music starts to play
Is very social. She loves smiling at other children and squeals at them at the store. She now sits in the cart seat and loves it!
Is starting to laugh more, but I still have to work really hard to get a good laugh out of her
Loves her closet. She likes playing with her shoes and touching her clothes like a girly girl
Loves her daddy. She gets so excited when he comes home and he gets a lot more smiles than mommy does lately
Likes to get the mail with mommy. She tries to open the mailbox, and always looks inside when I open it
Babbles using consonant sounds now. Most of the time it sounds like "blah blah blah blah"
Loves bath time. She splashes and smiles the whole time and then screams when we try to put her pajamas on
Likes to be outside, but unfortunately it's still cold and rainy here so we don't get play outside very much
