9 months

Molly is 9 months old! She's now officially been outside as long as she was inside my tummy, but it seems like it's gone WAY faster than pregnancy :)

These days Molly...
  • Weighs 19 lbs 9 oz. (70%), is 29.5 inches long (99%), and has a head circumference of 45.1 cm (88%)
  • Wears 6-9 month, 9 month and 12 month clothes depending on the brand, and size 3 diapers (though the diapers are getting a little snug)
  • Loves to point.  She points at books, and her food, and just in the air.
  • Can walk really well with assistance.  She can walk behind her elephant toy and always has a big smile while she does it.
  • She's getting much better at finger foods, but still only about 1/2 of it gets to her mouth.  Her favorite finger foods are peas, mozzarella cheese, strawberries and toast.
  • Loves any of the baby food mixes with chicken in them, and loves the pear cinnamon oatmeal.
  • Likes to dance.  She will stand up in her crib and dance with me whenever I go in to get her from her nap.
  • Takes 2 naps a day (about 1 hour and 15 mins each) and they are getting more consistent
  • Has three 7 oz bottles a day, and 3 solids meals that include finger foods and one jar of baby food or baby cereal.
  • Doesn't like drinking out of a sippy cup... we've been working on this for a while and she just doesn't like it. I've tried 3 different kinds but she just chews on them.  She also doesn't like to hold her own bottle.
  • Has discovered her hair and reaches up to grab it often (though she still doesn't have very much).  This is not fun while she's eating.
  • Crawls SUPER fast.  I get a workout just following her around.
  • Loves it when we pretend to eat her fingers. I just love that baby laugh!
  • Sleeps from 7:30pm to about 7:30am most nights
  • Hates being on her changing table, and it's a wrestle to change her diaper or her clothes.
  • Won't sit still in the bath anymore.  She spends the whole time trying to stand up, or trying to turn the water on.
  • Loves to play in the laundry basket. She does it every day.
  • Makes the funniest noises.  She likes to click her tongue, and blow bubbles with her lips and all sorts of other funny sounds.
  • Is taking with more consonant sounds too.  I hear a "ma ma" every now and then but "da da" and "bah bah" are her favorites.
  • Is starting to be a little clingy.  She used to play well by herself for about 30 mins, but now she just wants to follow me around or go where she's not supposed to.
  • Her personality is really starting to show and I love it! She's so happy at the dinner table with us, and loves to watch people at the park and the store.  I think she's going to be a very friendly kid!
Here's some photos from this month:
