Tool Time

We have finally pretty-much finished unpacking into our new home! It's been a very busy and tiring month for us.  It was really hard to move during the last week of teaching, and with Matt still having to be at work everyday, and with me being pregnant, and with all these stairs!!

I won't post any pictures of the house yet since we are still in organizing mode, but boy can I tell you we are going to be best friends with the people at home depot for the next few years! I like that we were able to get a great older home, but it's going to be a lot of work to get it the way we want it.

What we've done so far:
  • Bought a new washer - The old one left for us pooped out the third time I used it. May have been fixable, but a new one was probably the best idea.
  • Cleared out the garage - This garage was filled with shelves.. I'm talking wall to wall on every side.  Matt loves being able to organize the garage and it looks much less cluttered already though still needs a lot a cleaning.
  • De-hooked - There were hooks on EVERY free space of wall. We (or should I say Matt) have taken at least 100 hooks off the walls, and there are still many more in the basement.  The previous owners probably left with 20 boxes of decorations from the walls. I think we'll be expert spacklers when were done!
  • Cleaned - The walls, the floors, the doors, the toilets, the windows... you name it we've either deep cleaned it or it's on our list. We have used at least 5 tubs of those Clorox wipes (best invention ever!).

We've got a long list of projects to tackle, and I think I'm enjoying this a lot more than I expected. Next on the list: Paint the baby's room!

It's a GIRL!

We had an ultrasound yesterday and were able to tell that the little one in my belly is a GIRL!

She was moving all around, and we even caught a glimpse of her sucking her thumb. It's amazing what they can see on that screen!  I'm starting to feel here more and more now which is fun...  Matt can't wait til he can feel it too. I'm getting bigger, though I can tell that people in public look and me and wonder if I'm pregnant or if I just have a big belly. Well I'm halfway there, and I can't wait to meet her!!!

Lots of Changes!

I feel like I will officially be entering true adulthood this summer.  We've got a baby coming, and we've officially got a contract on a house! A house and a baby... what a year this is going to be!

As you can imagine, my Pinterest pages are filled with tons and tons of baby things and home decorating ideas.  I just can't stop.  We don't close on the house until the end of May, and we won't know the gender of our little one until the end of April.  So for now, I just feel like I'm stuck waiting. And waiting.. and waiting.

I did make a cute nursing cover though! This is my 4th or so sewing project, so I think I did a pretty good job. I even sewed on the rings and a pocket! Maybe soon I can try zippers...

Big News!

Most everyone who reads this blog already knows, but we are so excited to announce that Matt and I will be having a baby in September!!!

I went in for my first appointment about a month ago and we were able to hear our little one's heartbeat.  It still hasn't quite sunk in that there's a little person growing inside of me, but I get so excited every time I think about it.

Pregnancy has been great for me so far. I feel nauseous every now then, brushing my teeth makes me gag, I never want to eat anything, and I could probably sleep for 20 hours a day and still be tired. I'm so lucky though that I'm not sick while teaching my 9th graders in the morning.....

This picture makes me look like I'm showing a little... but no one can tell that I'm pregnant but me.  My pants still fit, but the pouch that I normally suck in is definitely not suck-in-able anymore!

I can't wait to start buying baby stuff!  Too bad we won't find out the gender for another 2 months. And we WILL definitely find out the gender... I don't understand those crazy people who don't want to know :)

Well, it looks like Matt and I are going to be parents.  I still can't believe it!

B-ball Champs 2014

This year, I was the church Young Women's basketball coach for our ward.  What a fun group of girls!

I don't meant to brag, but we won the tournament this past week.  Go Union ward!

Winter Blues

Well, the holidays are over. Apart from feeling a little sick, I had a great break!

For the longest time I have hated snow.  I don't like being cold, and especially cold and wet.  I don't like how dirty my shoes get, or how scary it can make driving.

Colorado started to change the for me. For some reason, the snow is more beautiful here.  Maybe because the sun is ALWAYS out.  It make the snow look magical.

Well, I hate it again. I took a really hard fall on the ice on the way to may car in the parking lot. I scraped up my hand pretty good, and got some bruises on my elbows.  And my tailbone is quite sore.  Nothing major, but my previously growing comfort for snow has now gone back to 0.

Now I'm going to go stretch my sore muscles.
