18 Months

Molly is 18 months old! I can't believe how big she is and she's learning new things so quickly! She is definitely not my little baby anymore.

Lately Molly:
  • Still weighs about 25 pounds, and is about 33 inches tall
  • Wears size 4 diapers and wear 18m, 24m, and 2T clothes depending on the style and brand
  • Started taking a mommy-and-me gymnastics class and loves to do forward rolls (with help)
  • Loves to watch music videos! She will sit and watch them on the computer while mommy gets ready in the morning... her favorites are Taylor Swift's Shake it Off and an LDS youth video called Good the Be Alive
  • Understands sooooo much! She can follow pretty complicated directions, and points to things when I say them that I had no idea she knew.
  • Doesn't talk too much, but babbles a lot. She knows about 15 words and several letters, but hasn't really learned any new words in the past few weeks. She's very good at saying "up" and uses that one all day long.
  • Loves routine.  She will remind me to do her hair in the morning, and wants to take a bath every day even though we only bathe her every other.
  • Is still an inconsistent napper. Some days no nap, other days a 3-hour nap, some days a 20 minute nap.  She is usually okay without a nap, but if she misses 2 days in a row, she's a nightmare.
  • Loves playing with stickers, but i can't get her to color with crayons for more that 1 minute.
  • Is starting to have lots of tantrums. Getting in the car, getting dressed, and leaving a fun place are the most likely causes... or if she sees cheese sticks in the cart at the grocery store.
  • Loves snacks.  She will eat an applesauce or a cheese stick any time, but is becoming a picky eater at the table.
  • Still doesn't really like TV which is okay with me, but loves to listen to Pandora or her Popcorn Bopping CD while she plays.
  • Has gotten sick 3 times in the past 2 months... took a trip to the ER for croup, and had her first stomach bug.
  • Still loves story time and pays a lot more attention now, especially to the songs.
  • Loves going on walks and to the playground.
  • Loves dogs and always points to her window so you'll pick her up to see if the neighbor's dog is outside.
  • Likes to help clean up (if she's done playing) and like to throw away trash.
  • Has a few favorite toys: her stacking cups, megablocks, and both of her talking ABC toys
  • Loves to give hugs and kisses to everything and says "awww" when she does it.
  • Has long enough hair to put in pigtails and a ponytail! Her bangs are super long, but I don't want to cut them since they can reach her pigtails... and when here hair is down it looks like a mullet.
  • Is so much fun! I laugh everyday playing with Molly and love watching her turn into a full-fledged toddler.

Here are some more pictures from the last few months:
