Crafting

I love to craft, but it's hard to find the time and motivation with a toddler running around all day.  I finally got to making a hair bow holder for Molly's room and it turned out pretty darn cute!

A bought a frame at Goodwill, added some hooks at the bottom, painted the whole thing white with my favorite chalky paint, and hot glued on some ribbons.  As easy as that sounds, it took me like 2 weeks to actually finish.  Molly seems to like it though and liked helping me put the bows on it!

If you every attempt to make one of these here are some expert tips:

1. Don't spend hours in the craft store picking ribbons that go well together.. they are just going to be covered up!

2. Don't glue the ribbons to the very back, then there will be no room to hook the bows. Glue them to the inside ledge of the frame so there's space between them and the wall, or you'll have to rip them all off and do it all over again.

3. Use a leveler or you'll end up making four holes in your wall when you only needed two.

Painting Project

We have been working on lots of projects here and there at our house, and I finally got one finished. Yay!

I found this beauty in someone's yard with a free sign, painted it with some antique white paint and furniture sealant($13), and added some cute knobs from Hobby Lobby($6). I'd say not too bad for 19 bucks! It now sits in our dining room and holds all of our board games, and matches our curtains perfectly!

I seriously love these knobs!

I think I'm ready for something bigger now... Maybe a barn door for our bathroom. :)

Crafty Kadi

I have been doing a lot of crafts lately.. it may be due to my Pinterest addiction, and to the fact that the women in my ward here are so craftsy.  Here are some of my most recent crafty adventures.  I am definitely running out of space to put things in this little apartment of ours.

Temple on canvas... turned out awesome!

Candy Corn Jars on Candelsticks

Fuzzy burlap decoration balls. They look great as a centerpiece on my table!

Now, I think it's time to start looking for some cute Christmas crafts to make.

Scrabble Craft

I searched for months to find a cheap game of Scrabble at a thrift store.  I finally found one and made these cute little coasters..

They each have 2 words spelled in them.  See if you can find them!

Summer Project #2

 Another Cricut project!

I love organization. And I love file folders.  And I love doing projects with vinyl.  So this was a natural idea from my organizing brain.

So nice for coupons!

And this one for all my kitchen appliance manuals, electronics manuals, and even warranties.

I also just got another blue file (target dollar section!!) that I will use for receipts. Now all I have to decide is what color to make the letters....

Summer Project #1

Since Matt is a working man this summer, I've got lots of time to myself.  So I've decided to do a few projects to keep me busy.  Here is the first...

Kitchen Jars!

Boise has TONS of thrift stores. We went to 6 on Saturday and I've passed by at least 2 more that I'll need to check out sometime.  Anyways.. I found these perfect jars at one of them, washed them out super clean, and used my cricut to label them.  They turned out much to my liking:

More summer projects on their way!
